This painting captures a view from the east side of downtown Toronto, looking west from above ‘Old Town’. In view is the famous St Lawrence Market, and other notable landmarks include the Gooderham building (Toronto’s flat iron building), CN Tower, Rogers Centre and the Toronto eastern skyline. I was drawn to the idea of growth and calm, as reflected in the colour palette.
